Edward L. Jaworski is an Olympian in water polo (1952, Helsinki), a Pan American gold medalist (1959) and a 1988 NYAC Hall of Fame Inductee.  

Jaworski was born March 11th, 1926 in the Bronx, New York. He enrolled at Columbia University in 1946 and played on the water polo team. Shortly thereafter, Jaworksi was elected as a member of the NYAC in 1948.  

In addition to playing for the NYAC, Jaworski was an eight-time member of the AAU senior national water polo team and a member of the 1952 Olympic team. He narrowly missed medaling in Helsinki, as the United States finished in fourth place. However, he won the gold medal at the 1959 Pan American Games in Chicago.  

Jaworski continued to be an active member long after his competitive career had ended. He served as the head coach of the NYAC water polo team from 1963 through 1974, and remained a Club member for the rest of his life.  

For his contributions to the sport, Jaworski was inducted as a charter member of the USA Water Polo Hall of Fame in 1976.  

Jaworski passed away on August 20th, 2008, at the age of 82.
